To promote Thai festivals and culture to visitors, Maesa Elephant Camp will arrange special activities and shows from our talented elephants during festive times. Some of the highlight celebrations are:

1.Children's Day, on every second Saturday in January
On every Children's Day, Maesa Elephant Camp will allow children and students to enter the camp free of charge to give them the opportunity to get close to elephants and learn more about their life and intelligence.

2. National Thai Elephant Day, March 13th
Thai people have high esteem and reverence towards elephants and the Thai government, in 1998, officially announced March 13th of each year to be the National Thai Elephant Day. On the Elephant Day, Maesa Elephant Camp will arrange a grand celebration for its elephants to mark the importance of this intelligent creature. 'Satoke', similar to kantoke, the traditional northern Thai style of dining, is organised into the

world's largest elephant buffet - a marvellous sight to behold, as dozens upon dozens of giant pachyderms eat to their heart's content at a great banquet satoke. Children join the celebrations free of charge to promote the value of elephants and of the day for them.

3. Songkran Festival, April 13th - 15th
Joining the nationwide Thai New Year festive celebration, the Maesa Elephant Camp will decorate the area and create an atmosphere of Lanna Songkran within the camp to allow visitors to have a glimpse into Lanna culture. Songkran celebrations at the camp will be held for a week and special shows from the elephants will be performed such as elephants' Wai Kru (marking respect for teachers and trainers) ceremony and elephant boxing (a humorous, non-violent performance).
